The Shakti Sikkim Village Walk is a 5-6 night village-to-village walk, staying in the three Shakti Sikkim village houses.
The journey is culturally rich, and developed to bring the traveller into the heart of the Sikkim area. As with all Shakti journeys, being privately guided, the itinerary can be tailored to all fitness levels and interests.
Day 1 – Fly into Bagdogra Airport (from Delhi, Calcutta or Paro, Bhutan). Drive 5 hours to Shakti Village House in Sandyang Lee village, staying for 2 nights.
Day 2 – Morning village walk and after breakfast, start a day hike into the surrounding area stopping en route for a picnic lunch.
Day 3 – Visit Rinchenpong monastery for morning prayers. Today a beautiful 4-6 hour walk to the next Shakti Village House in Hee Village.
Day 4 – Walk up to the Pemayangtse Hill for a view of Mt Kanchenjunga. Walk through the Red Panda wildlife sanctuary and reach the next Shakti Village House, Radhu Kandu for 2 nights.
Day 5 – Spend time at the local school this morning and later hike along isolated trails. Perhaps today, stop at a local house to share tea with a local family. Today you can take a longer hike
or something gentler.
Day 6 – Return to Bagdogra to fly out – or continue to Darjeeling or other parts of the region.
